The UX team is responsible for uncovering insights about our users’ needs and goals. We translate these insights into valuable and highly usable software solutions across a wide range of products. Through UX research and design, we accelerate our clients’ access to data and insights and develop advanced user workflows. We bring deep experience in creating innovative solutions across multiple channels - desktop, web, and mobile. We continually enhance and evolve the company’s pioneering software solution – the Bloomberg Terminal. In addition to the Terminal, we support other tools like premium desktop, web, mobile products and internal productivity tools. We are a team of researchers, interaction designers, visual designers, prototypers, and technical writers who partner with product and technology to turn our design vision into reality!

We are looking for an experienced Interaction Designer with a passion for making complex systems useful, usable, and delightful. As a member of the team you will closely partner with end users and subject matter experts and take ownership of a domain to envision and craft conceptual solutions, interaction design, and the overall user experience of our products.

Responsibilities

  • Use analytical and conceptual thinking to translate user needs, business objectives and technology capabilities into innovative design solutions
  • Lead all aspects of the design process from customer research using qualitative and quantitative methods, conceptualizing, storyboarding, detailed design and working with engineering teams on implementing designs
  • Collaborate with business teams to adopt a user centered process and ground design decisions in a detailed understanding of the customer’s workflow and needs
  • Conduct workshops with business and engineering stakeholders and subject matter experts
  • Collaborate with engineers to support product development according to design specifications
  • Take ownership of a domain and deliver interaction design and overall user experience for products

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience as a UX or Product designer
  • Graduate degree in HCI, Interaction Design, Information Architecture, Visual Communication, or a related design field
  • Track record of applying User-Centered Design practices, including conducting user research and usability research/analysis
  • Experience designing complex user workflows, decision-support systems, or enterprise software
  • Experience designing framework-level patterns, information architecture, and/or large dataset visualizations
  • Strong communication skills to advocate for users throughout the process
  • Project management skills to drive projects from start to release and proactively engage cross-functional stakeholders
  • Willingness and ability to mentor design team members

Preferred / Nice to Have

  • Domain and design experience in: financial domain (especially fixed income and/or private equity/private markets), AI-powered systems, software development/engineering tools, or platform/infrastructure-level design
  • Experience engaging with highly complex domains

Portfolio

Please provide two design projects in detail that demonstrate your design process across the full project lifecycle (customer research, personas, sketches, user journeys, task flows, wireframes, storyboards, prototypes, success metrics, etc.). We want to see how your process informed your design choices and how you can walk through your work as a user would.

Compensation

Salary Range: 160000 - 210000 USD Annually + Benefits + Bonus

The referenced salary range is based on the Company's good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level.
