The current chat experience lacks a real-time, casual environment due to Reddit's forum-like post and comment structure. The Chat team aims to make synchronous conversations a core part of the Reddit experience, unlocking new ways for communities to grow.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, and engineering teams to build novel iOS products and features.
• Communicate effectively within the team and across disciplines.
• Work closely with product managers and designers to create compelling iOS user experiences.
• Contribute to team strategy and actively participate in planning.
• Participate in product reviews, provide technical insights specific to iOS, and help scope and prioritize tasks.
• Foster a healthy engineering culture with other iOS and platform engineers.
• Utilize expertise in iOS development to contribute to chat feature architecture and implementation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent technical expertise.
• 5+ years of professional experience developing scalable, user-facing native iOS applications using Swift.
• Strategic thinker with passion for scalable, well-designed software on iOS.
• Proven track record leading large iOS projects involving cross-team collaboration.
• Experience with modern iOS development frameworks and patterns such as SwiftUI, UIKit, Combine, and Concurrency.
• Entrepreneurial spirit: self-directed, innovative, action-biased, thriving in fast-paced ambiguous environments.
• Experience working cross-functionally with design, product, and data teams on iOS.

Pay Transparency

This role may span multiple career levels. Base salary range for US-based candidates is $190,800 to $267,100 USD annually. Equity in restricted stock units and other benefits are also included. Final offer depends on skills, experience, and other factors.
