At ABN AMRO Core Transactions, we are looking for an enthusiastic Java Backend Developer who is passionate about payments. Our systems are a key part of the stability of the bank. You will work with high-throughput payment processing, data, reporting, DevOps and cloud technologies to deliver resilient payment services.
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain and transform the bank's payment system landscape.
- Work in a DevOps team responsible for analysis, design, development, testing and maintenance of software to automate and support business processes.
- Ensure crucial bank processes can be executed efficiently, securely and sustainably.
- Route transactions between the payment engine and external systems, validating information and ensuring robust error-handling.
- Participate in decommissioning old technologies and exploring and adopting new technologies.
- Grow into a leading role in designing and maintaining core payment processing systems.
Working environment / Team
- You will be part of the Core Transactions department, within Personal & Business Banking.
- The SEPA backoffice team processes millions of transactions daily; many are processed within seconds and require the utmost stability and perfect error handling.
- The team works with both on-premise and public cloud environments.
- Multidisciplinary, Agile-minded teams with emphasis on openness, transparency, quality and ownership.
Requirements
- 5+ years of IT experience with working scrum/agile/DevOps knowledge.
- Extensive experience with Java 17 (or higher versions).
- Experience with testing frameworks (JUnit, JMeter, etc.).
- Experience with modern frameworks like Spring.
- Experience with public cloud services such as Azure DevOps and Azure resources.
- Good to have knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes and AKS.
- Analytical skills and a passion for the field of expertise.

- Gross monthly salary: €5,112 - €7,303 (based on a 36-hour work week, including vacation pay and benefit budget).
- Benefit Budget: 11% of salary (can be paid out monthly if not used in Benefit Shop).
- Five weeks of vacation per year with the option to purchase an additional four weeks.
