Join Collibra’s Platform Infrastructure Team
We are looking for a seasoned Senior Engineering Manager to lead and scale a highly skilled team that is responsible for building, optimizing, and maintaining the infrastructure that powers both Collibra production and developer environments at scale. This includes managing virtualized and containerized environments (primarily Kubernetes), as well as core messaging and eventing tools like RabbitMQ, and shared platform services such as Elasticsearch.
As a Senior Engineering Manager, you will lead a diverse team, guiding them in building infrastructure that enables high availability, scalability, and efficiency while also providing tools and systems that enhance developer productivity. You will play a key role in shaping the technical direction, ensuring operational excellence, and fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration that enables high-performance development and deployment workflows.
Responsibilities
- Provide architectural leadership for large-scale, distributed systems, ensuring that infrastructure is scalable, reliable, and cost-effective.
- Drive the design, implementation, and ongoing optimization of our cloud-based infrastructure, focusing on containers (Kubernetes) and virtual machine environments.
- Leading the design and implementation of cloud networking solutions for production and development environments, ensuring scalability, high availability, and security across multi-cloud and hybrid environments.
- Drive the adoption of GitOps practices across the infrastructure and development teams, using ArgoCD to automate Kubernetes application deployment and infrastructure provisioning.
- Oversee the architecture and management of messaging and eventing systems (e.g., RabbitMQ, Pulsar) to enable robust, scalable communication across microservices and distributed applications.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in engineering, with at least 3+ years in a leadership or management role, overseeing teams focused on infrastructure, SRE, cloud platforms, and DevOps practices.
- Proven expertise in managing large-scale, distributed infrastructure systems, including containerized environments (primarily Kubernetes), virtual machines, and cloud services (AWS, GCP).
- Expertise in cloud networking, including VPCs, DNS, routing, security groups, VPNs, load balancing, and inter-cloud connectivity plus experience with Istio and service mesh technologies, including traffic management, observability, mTLS, and security features.
- Proficiency in infrastructure automation and configuration management tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
- Experience with ArgoCD and GitOps principles for automating Kubernetes-based deployments and managing infrastructure as code (IaC).
- Deep experience with messaging and event-driven architectures, including tools like RabbitMQ, Apache Pulsar, or similar.
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent related working experience is required.
- This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
- Because this role supports the US government, it is required that this candidate be a US citizen who resides on US soil.
