Details
Airbnb's Guest & Host Engineering and Data Science organization builds platforms and features that improve end-to-end Guest and Host experiences. This role partners across product, design, operations and finance to deliver features, scale processes, and grow a high-performing TPM organization.
Responsibilities
- Develop and lead a team of Technical Program Managers (TPMs), providing continual feedback, coaching, and career growth for direct reports.
- Scale team impact by favoring automation and leveraging AI to minimize manual work, set realistic goals with stakeholders, and up-level TPM skills.
- Identify and drive process improvements to improve the quality of engineering deliverables and enable efficient tracking of deliverables across the product lifecycle.
- Work with Design, Finance, Operations and PMO peers to improve collaboration between Engineering/TPM and partner functions; spearhead and oversee process improvements until adoption.
- Act as the communication lead for the Guest & Host Tech engineering community for bi-annual product releases, collaborating with PMO, Design, QA release leaders on program-level updates, risks, and ambiguities.
- Collaborate with TPM manager peers and cross-functional partners to align on strategies, roadmaps, prioritization and trade-offs.
- Provide executional guidance and support: simplify technically complex problems, unblock teams, identify risks and opportunities.
- Partner with peers leading other TPM teams to strengthen the craft and, as needed, manage large, complex, strategic programs hands-on.
Requirements
- 13+ years in a technical program management function, with at least 5 years leading a team of TPMs and creating an inclusive, sustainable culture.
- 5+ years leading a TPM team that collaborates with Product and Design on customer-facing features (ideally leveraging AI capabilities in the product).
- Experience using AI to automate manual processes to improve team productivity.
- Proven track record of instilling or maintaining a culture of data-driven decision making.
- Experience with iterative development or optimizing product development lifecycles to support a rapid build-test-learn operating model.
- Extensive experience and success with change management and process engineering to improve efficiencies within engineering and partner functions.
- Proven ability to navigate organizational or process ambiguity and influence cross-functional teams to achieve outcomes.
- Self-motivated, curious, proactive, nimble, and effective in dynamic environments where priorities shift.
- Highly organized with impeccable communication skills.
- Experience growing a TPM function within a startup environment is appreciated but not required.
Location
- US - Remote Eligible. Candidate must live in a state where Airbnb, Inc. has a registered entity. Role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites as agreed with manager.

Compensation
- Base pay range: $232,000—$282,000 USD. This role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.
