Automattic for Agencies, the agency partnerships division of Automattic, is seeking a motivated Senior Partner Manager to manage and develop relationships with strategic agency partners, with a significant focus on driving WordPress VIP (WPVIP) revenue. You will maintain a portfolio of partners and drive VIP product enablement and adoption, onboarding and strategizing with new strategic agencies and creating and delivering strategic plans that achieve mutual growth for VIP and partners.

Responsibilities

  • Drive sales of Automattic products through partner channels with digital agencies, identifying new opportunities for revenue generation.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with a book of Premier partners, supporting partners through their whole journey, from onboarding to expansion, by understanding their business strategy and needs.
  • Develop and execute high-impact strategies for partner retention, net revenue retention (NRR), and partner growth.
  • Represent Automattic and build awareness of products and services in partner organizations via a one-to-many approach.
  • Communicate frequently with key stakeholders within WordPress VIP and other business units on partner needs, alerts, and relationship statuses.
  • Become the agency’s trusted advisor, helping them build strong WordPress VIP business practices, deliver successful projects, and scale their growth via Automattic for Agencies and VIP.
  • Provide training and support to partners to enhance their understanding of Automattic's products, services, and value propositions.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal and external Business Unit teams, including Marketing, Sales/CS, Happiness, Product, and Executive Leadership.
  • Collaborate on marketing and sales enablement programs for partners with respective business units.
  • Attend and support flagship WordCamps, explore potential sponsorships, and participate in partner events to drive lead generation and enhance brand visibility.
  • Gather partner feedback to improve products, services, and the overall partnership experience and advocate for partner needs within Automattic.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and market developments and use market insights to refine partnership strategies.
  • Ensure partners adhere to agreed-upon standards and compliance requirements and seek ways to enhance the overall partner ecosystem within Automattic.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience as a Partner Manager, Relationship Manager, Customer Success Manager, or Account Manager at a technology or media company (SaaS preferred).
  • Expertise in managing a high-volume portfolio of partners and meeting/exceeding Net Revenue Retention (NRR) and growth goals.
  • Experience working with Global System Integrator/System Integrator organizations to build new alliances, introduce technology practices, and maintain/scale them.
  • Demonstrated experience communicating and negotiating with C-suite and senior executive stakeholders within partner accounts and internally.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication and dynamic presentation skills for individuals and groups, including C-level executives.
  • Familiarity with Automattic’s brands and the WordPress ecosystem, and experience with third-party products/solutions agencies leverage (hosts, dev tools, etc.).
  • Ability to grasp and communicate technical concepts effectively to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally for partner relationship building and events such as flagship WordCamps.
  • Prioritizing applicants with deep experience in the North American market and availability to work consistently in a North American time zone.
  • Adaptability to new technologies, industry trends, and changes in the competitive landscape.

Compensation & Work Policy

  • Salary range: $125,000 - $180,000 USD plus commission. Salary ranges are global and paid in local currency where applicable. Pay may exceed the stated range based on contribution and impact.
  • Fully remote company with an open vacation policy. Candidates should be available to work in a North American time zone (preferred for this role).
