Details

Intelligent machines powered by Artificial Intelligence are enabling computers, robots and self-driving cars to perceive and understand the world. NVIDIA is building autonomous driving solutions and is seeking a Senior Perception Engineer to develop and productize world-class 3D obstacle perception solutions using multiple cameras on mobile platforms. The primary approach is deep learning, with an emphasis on robustness, accuracy and efficiency to enable autonomous driving in diverse, challenging conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Work on obstacle perception and sensor fusion in complex driving environments, with application focus.
  • Research, design and implement deep learning and multiple-camera fusion algorithms to improve 3D obstacle perception accuracy across diverse scenarios (real and synthetic data).
  • Analyze strengths and weaknesses of developed 3D perception solutions using large-scale benchmark datasets and iteratively improve them via KPI building and optimization.
  • Productize perception solutions to meet product requirements for safety, latency and software robustness.
  • Drive data-driven development by collaborating with large data collection and labeling teams; prioritize data collection and labeling to maximize value for perception accuracy.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of hands-on experience developing deep learning and algorithms for complex real-world problems.
  • Proficiency with deep learning frameworks (example: PyTorch).
  • Experience in data-driven development and collaboration with data and ground-truth/labeling teams.
  • Strong programming skills in Python and/or C++.
  • BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, sciences or related fields (or equivalent experience).
  • Outstanding communication and teamwork skills; ability to work closely with a tightly-knit team.

Ways to Stand Out

  • Proven expertise developing perception solutions for autonomous driving or robotics using deep learning with cameras.
  • Hands-on experience developing and deploying DNN-based solutions to embedded platforms for real-time applications.
  • Technical publications in leading conferences/journals demonstrating deep learning expertise.
  • Strong fundamentals in 3D computer vision and camera calibrations (intrinsic and extrinsic).
  • Experience with CUDA development and implementing CUDA kernels as part of training or inference pipelines.

Benefits

  • Base salary range: 224,000 USD - 356,500 USD (determined by location, experience and pay of employees in similar positions).
  • Eligible for equity and benefits.
  • Application window open through at least July 29, 2025.
