Information about the position

We’re looking for a Senior Designer, joining our Design Operations domain, to help us grow and evolve Vinted’s Design System, as well as contribute to maturing internal solutions that help accelerate Vinteds’ product design.

In this role, you will be:

• joining our existing cross-functional Design Systems team, containing Product Designers and Engineers;
• collaborating closely with the Design System Manager to identify opportunities to increase the impact of the Design System;
• working closely with our Product Design team to get an understanding of the current issues and inconsistencies that we’re facing.

We seek a passionate advocate for Design Systems and internal tooling, who can clearly communicate the value of design systems across the organisation. You prioritise high design quality and consistency, work effectively in complex and ambiguous environments, and know when to collaborate to drive progress. You also develop your leadership skills by mentoring, providing feedback, and setting high execution standards.

In this position, you’ll

• Be responsible for developing our design system. This means crafting a beautiful, functional and easy to use systems that streamline development of Vinted’s products
• Lead and collaborate with product designers and front-end developers to design and implement robust, flexible components, patterns and guidelines
• Be a decision-maker regarding all things design in the Design System organization
• Become an authority on Vinted design language, setting standards for our design system and how systems thinking is embedded in Vinted design practice
• Own design of high-impact patterns, component designs, and cross-cutting features from inception to delivery, including engineering collaboration, rollout plans, usability testing, usage guidelines, and representation in design tools such as Figma;
• In collaboration with your engineering and product counterparts, drive product discovery to identify new opportunities, strategize and evolve Design System architecture, shape and develop roadmaps for new initiatives
• Evangelise systems thinking and advocate for consistent, high-quality craft by providing design feedback and thought leadership, mentoring, and collaborating with other designers across Vinted organisation
• Lead the Design System education, training, and onboarding.

About you

• Experience in building, owning, and maintaining design systems at scale
• A deep technical understanding of Design Systems (preferably at large scale) that bridges both Design and Engineering
• Significant experience in designing and shipping cross-platform products, from the web to native mobile
• Strong visual, UI, and interaction skills — you’re a champion for product excellence, an expert in platform-specific guidelines, and care about design craft and the details that elevate work from good to great;
• Systems thinking with an ability to maintain simplicity in a growing design system and a clear sense of structure that is scalable; as well as a vision to see how all the parts fit together and how a small change can propagate throughout the system;
• Mastery of Figma
• Excellent communication skills, including excellent written and spoken English, to promote collaboration across a broad group of teams, including Design, Engineering, Product, and Branding
• Hands-on experience in front-end development is a plus.

The salary range for this position is €68,100 - €92,100 gross per year.
