Grafana Labs is a remote-first, open-source company with a global user base and commercial products (Grafana Cloud and Grafana Enterprise Stack) built around observability: metrics (Mimir), logs (Loki), and traces (Tempo).
This is a fully remote position. Grafana Labs is considering candidates based in Ireland for this role.
Role overview
As a Product Manager for Performance Testing, you will own the Grafana Cloud experience for performance testing built around the k6 open-source project (Grafana Cloud k6 and k6 OSS). You'll define how customers write, run, and act on performance tests across the software delivery lifecycle, integrate test results with Grafana Cloud metrics/logs/traces, and evolve performance testing across modalities (protocol, browser, mobile). You will collaborate across R&D to connect Performance Testing with the broader Grafana Cloud suite (Knowledge Graph, Application Observability, Kubernetes Monitoring).
Product Managers at Grafana Labs develop vision and strategy for their product domain, own roadmaps and collateral, perform market research, and act as advocates and experts for their area. The role requires proactive communication across distributed, remote teams and proficiency representing products to customers.
Responsibilities
- Transform ideas and feedback into a product vision and roadmap
- Empathize with customer problems to collect user needs, requirements, and pain points
- Curate and represent user feedback to Engineering and provide evidence to support tradeoffs and priorities
- Work closely with Product Marketing (PMM) to enable GTM through presentations, documentation, website content, datasheets, and whitepapers
- Make decisions about go-to-market strategies, pricing, packaging, licensing and tiering
- Ensure Performance Testing integrates with Grafana Cloud’s metrics, logs, and traces and with other platform capabilities
Requirements
- BS/BA in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent work experience
- 7+ years of experience in Product Management
- 5+ years of experience in a B2B SaaS product
- Experience using or building developer-facing tools, APIs, or platform services
- Ability to discuss APIs, data models, schema evolution, and distributed systems concepts
- Experience driving adoption of shared services or platform capabilities across multiple product teams
- Experience working with Engineering and Design teams to build products with sound UX in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders
Bonus Points
- Experience with open source software and/or commercial open source companies
- Experience using or building observability products and/or developer tools (internally as SRE or for external customers)
- Proficiency with infrastructure concepts and components such as Kubernetes, Cloud Service Providers, and VMs
- Experience with AI tools
Compensation & Equity
- In Ireland, the base compensation range for this role is EUR 104,000 - 124,800. Actual compensation may vary based on level, experience, and skillset.
- All roles include Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).
