We are seeking a passionate candidate who believes in the power of crypto and blockchain technology to update the financial system. The role involves working on the security platform engineering team, building capabilities and solutions for various security use cases critical for security, compliance, and privacy at Coinbase.

Responsibilities

• Build new services to meet critical product and business needs using Golang.
• Design scalable systems to solve novel problems with modern cloud technology and industry best practices.
• Articulate a long-term vision for maintaining and scaling backend systems and the teams running them.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, product managers, and senior leadership to turn product and technical vision into quarterly roadmaps.
• Write high quality, well-tested code to meet customer needs.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in software engineering.
• Experience designing, building, scaling, and maintaining production services and composing service-oriented architectures.
• Strong coding skills with a focus on quality and testing.
• Passionate about building an open financial system.

Nice to Haves

• Experience with rapid company growth phases (startup to mid-size).
• Experience with blockchain technologies such as Bitcoin and Ethereum.
• Experience decomposing large monoliths into microservices.
• Familiarity with Golang, Ruby, Docker, Rails, Postgres, MongoDB, or DynamoDB.
• Experience building financial and high reliability security systems.
