Details
Airbnb was born in 2007 when two hosts welcomed three guests to their San Francisco home, and has since grown to over 5 million hosts who have welcomed over 2 billion guest arrivals in almost every country across the globe.
The Reputation team is responsible for everything related to a user's reputation, from reviews and superhost and standards enforcement. Work includes:
- Reviews: collecting and acting on data collected from users (including the business logic of the questions asked in the review flow).
- Superhost: recognizing and rewarding top hosts.
- Standards: escalating education and enforcement when poor feedback is received.
- Insights: providing easily consumable and accurate data to hosts about performance and opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Work with cross-functional partners (product managers, legal, etc.) to design and deliver high-quality products.
- Create paved paths and best practices within the reviews, standards, and insights space.
- Define technical strategy and lead the architecture, build, and launch of solutions for serving reviews flows and providing data to users.
- Build efficient backend solutions that are reliable, performant, and scalable.
- Influence and align stakeholders across teams and organizations on technical direction, goals, and roadmaps.
- Mentor and grow engineers and drive technical decisions across teams.
- Move across the stack as needed; projects may require focus on one layer or work across multiple layers.
Requirements
- 7+ years of full-time work experience in software engineering, information technology, or related domains.
- Proven track record of defining technical direction and owning architecture for large-scale, complex production systems.
- Ability to drive technical strategy and make architectural decisions that span multiple teams and systems.
- Experience mentoring and growing engineers, and influencing technical decisions across teams and organizations.
- Experience with service-oriented architecture.
- Experience with Agentic Coding tools.
- Proficiency in one or more backend server languages (Ruby, Java, Kotlin) and familiarity with storage systems such as relational databases, NoSQL, and caching.
- Breadth of knowledge in reviews and metrics domain is a plus.
Location
- This position is US - Remote Eligible. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed with your manager. You must live in a state where Airbnb, Inc. has a registered entity (some states excluded).
Pay Range
- $196,000ā$227,000 USD (base pay range). This role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.
