We help companies stay secure while moving fast.

Built by engineers for engineers, the Teleport Access Platform delivers on-demand, least privileged access to infrastructure based on cryptographic identity and zero trust, with built-in identity security and policy governance.

About Teleport

Teleport is the Infrastructure Identity Company, modernizing identity, access, and policy for infrastructure to improve engineering velocity and resiliency of critical infrastructure. Teleport is a fast-growing, well-funded Y Combinator company trusted by companies such as Elastic, Discord, DoorDash, and NASDAQ.

Role summary

We are looking for security-focused software engineers to work on Teleport’s Security Engineering and Defense and Intelligence teams. You will work across the full product lifecycle including reviewing RFDs, code review, vulnerability testing, and documentation. Much of Teleport’s code is open source and is written in Go (or Rust).

On the Defense and Intelligence side, you will work with the detection and response stack (example tools: Panther, Wiz, Jamf Protect, Temporal) to stop breaches, reduce false positives, improve detection coverage, and build response automation and AI agents.

Responsibilities

  • Review RFDs and proposed designs for security and quality.
  • Participate in code review and vulnerability testing for open source and internal code.
  • Work on problems ranging from cryptography and networking to security automation and AI agents.
  • Hunt for vulnerabilities using traditional scanning tools and LLM/AI tools.
  • Automate routine security and compliance processes to increase effectiveness.
  • Implement and maintain log pipelines for event data sources such as SaaS apps and endpoint telemetry.
  • Pair with the Cloud team to deploy service control policies (SCPs) in AWS to prevent undesired configurations.
  • Engage with red teams to test and harden detection and response capabilities.
  • Build response automation to reduce the risk of advanced attacks and tune detection/response logic with a tight feedback loop.
  • Contribute to the Teleport product to improve defensive capabilities for Teleport and its customers.

Projects you may work on

  • Reviewing RFDs from engineers across proposed projects for security and quality.
  • Deploying AWS SCPs with the Cloud team.
  • Hunting for vulnerabilities using traditional scanners and LLM/AI tools.
  • Automating security and compliance processes.
  • Implementing and maintaining log pipelines and endpoint telemetry ingestion.
  • Working with red teams and building response automation.

Requirements

  • Experience with Go or Rust.
  • Security experience is a plus.
  • Cryptography engineering experience is a plus.

Interview process

  • 30 minute intro call to walk through compensation, interview process, and requirements.
  • Join a Slack channel and submit a coding challenge in Go using GitHub.

Benefits

  • Extensive health coverage.
  • Annual expense budget.
  • Rest & recovery policies to maximize leave and recharge time.
  • Retirement savings plans.
  • Equity in a US $1.1B business.
