Details

The Automotive Vehicles team is searching for a creative and experienced Software Engineer to help bring NVIDIA's autonomous vehicle solution to the world. You will participate in a focused effort to develop and productize solutions for self-driving cars, integrating work across vehicle subsystems into the AV software platform while meeting NVIDIA and automotive standards. As a senior software engineer, your primary role will be to build robust and scalable simulation infrastructure to test and validate self-driving technology over millions of virtual miles.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, improve and maintain metrics and test sets that support large-scale KPIs and performance measurements for autonomous driving systems.
  • Collaborate across engineering, infrastructure, test engineering, and release teams to build and scale test solutions that address coverage gaps and mitigate project risks.
  • Build and improve tools that automate and scale test sets through metrics, data quantity, quality, and diversity, enabling test-driven development across the company.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers, promoting technical excellence and collaborative problem solving.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve system-level issues affecting KPI performance and simulation frameworks.

Requirements

  • BS (or equivalent experience), MS, or PhD in Engineering or Science field.
  • 5+ years of software engineering and data analysis experience, preferably in simulation, autonomous systems, robotics, AI, or related areas.
  • Proficiency in Python and a deep understanding of software engineering practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and technical troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to perform in situations with high ambiguity and competing priorities.
  • Curiosity and willingness to "get into the weeds" of a problem.

Ways to stand out

  • Background scaling autonomous vehicle simulation frameworks.
  • Experience with or knowledge of AI/ML systems; background in AI-native systems.
  • Experience in large-scale simulation for hardware or software validation of robotics solutions.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary ranges (location- and level-dependent):
    • Level 3: 152,000 USD - 241,500 USD
    • Level 4: 184,000 USD - 287,500 USD
  • Eligible for equity and benefits (see NVIDIA benefits page).
