The Ads Marketplace Quality team is growing and seeks a machine learning engineer and domain expert to improve and optimize Reddit's ads marketplace, auction, and pricing mechanisms.

Responsibilities

  • Lead strategy development, quarterly planning, and execution of initiatives related to ads marketplace, auction, and pricing.
  • Develop algorithms to improve ads marketplace efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Oversee end-to-end ML workflows including data ingestion, feature engineering, model training, evaluation, and deployment.
  • Mentor and lead junior and senior engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and technical excellence.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product management, data science, PMM, and Sales teams to build innovative products.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of industry-level product development experience; 5+ years focused on data-driven, marketplace optimization at scale.
  • Strong knowledge of ads marketplace optimization, auction, and pricing mechanisms.
  • Solid understanding of large-scale data processing and distributed computing technologies such as Spark, Kafka, Beam, and Flink.
  • Proficiency with machine learning frameworks like TensorFlow and PyTorch for feature engineering, model training, and inference.
  • Experience programming in Java, Python, Golang, C++, or similar languages, and skills in statistical analysis.
  • Proven technical leadership in cross-functional settings, driving architectural decisions and influencing stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication, mentoring, and collaboration skills.

Salary

The base salary range for this position is $266,000 to $372,400 USD annually. The role may also include equity in the form of restricted stock units and potentially commissions depending on the offered position.
