Information about the position

We are seeking a skilled Technical Program Manager to oversee and integrate our internal operations, as well as programs and initiatives across various departments including IT, People, Finance, Legal, Security, and Privacy. Currently, these units operate independently, lacking coordination and shared objectives. The absence of central oversight presents an opportunity to streamline and align their efforts.

Your role will involve identifying the most vital programs and initiatives, instituting a regular reporting format to deliver progress updates on key projects to our senior leadership. You will facilitate the alignment of relevant stakeholders around common priorities, strategies, and vision, while organizing a unified planning process and developing a cohesive roadmap. This position reports to the Senior Engineering Director of our Group Infrastructure.

The successful candidate will have a strong technical background, be highly data-driven, and have proven problem-solving abilities. You will understand software design and delivery well and be able to effectively operate in operational engineering environments, adapting to dynamic conditions and ensuring all technical and procedural objectives are met. Your program/project management experience and operational excellence will influence the team’s decisions and help drive scalable long-term solutions.

In this position, you’ll

  • Manage the lifecycle of large and complex programs with considerable impact that support strategic goals, important business-level outcomes, and/or have significant financial implications
  • Ensure that programs and initiatives are implemented faster while operations run more efficiently
  • Be responsible for defining and establishing standardized internal operations processes to enhance organizational efficiency and program execution
  • Improve processes and metrics required to effectively unblock delivery, accelerate innovation, and/or improve quality
  • Increase transparency and predictability with roadmaps, planning, and stakeholder management
  • Drive large-scale engineering efforts by collaborating with engineering, product managers, IT, People, Finance, Legal, Security and Privacy to define program vision, objectives, scope, milestones, and success criteria
  • Work with and influence leadership up to the executive level
  • Work to keep the scope of engineering efforts under control and accelerate progress by driving timely, data-driven decisions
  • Ensure focus on the most impactful projects and programs while reducing waste and frequent context switching

About you

  • Solid technical program management experience at scale
  • Interest in internal operations, bias for action, practical
  • A strong track record of executing cross-functional multi-year programs in dynamic and fast-paced environments, including building processes and coordinating release schedules
  • Significant understanding and experience in methodologies such as TOC, Lean, TPS, Agile, Scrum (significant understanding and experience in at least one)
  • Experience in project management disciplines, including scope, schedule, budget, and quality, along with risk and critical path management
  • Change management experience in a large organization, including implementing new ways of working and managing resistance to change
  • Communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, to a wide range of audiences, including leadership up to executive level
  • Strong technical and problem-solving skills
