Senior Technical Program Manager, Payments

As we grow to achieve that mission, we’re looking to add a technical, hands-on, and mission-driven Technical Program Manager (TPM) to support the Payments Engineering team. This person will partner with Payments engineering, ops, and product teams to build new Payments capabilities and deliver strategic business priorities.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, execution, and delivery of large cross-functional initiatives aimed at meeting key business priorities.
• Balance broad, outcome-driven thinking with attention to critical details; prioritize where deep focus is necessary to ensure successful execution.
• Shape and influence technical direction of projects while maintaining high-quality standards.
• Define and secure stakeholder alignment on clear, measurable success criteria; regularly assess risks and opportunities and devise mitigation strategies.
• Maintain transparent and effective communication channels to keep stakeholders informed of progress, developments, and challenges.
• Present outcomes and updates to senior leadership, articulating trade-offs, risks, and emerging opportunities.
• Collaborate with leadership to implement best practices and align priorities across Payments.
• Develop a portfolio view of Payments programs and provide leaders visibility into execution status, issues, and decisions; surface key performance indicators.
• Work independently with stakeholders and cross-functional leadership; maintain focus on key priorities and resolve impediments quickly.
• Drive process improvements focused on simplification and productivity.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in the software development industry, with at least 5 years as a TPM or relevant experience.
• B.S. in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Strong technical background and ability to decompose vague problems into detailed solutions and drive initiatives to completion.
• Proven ability to work calmly through ambiguity and influence cross-functional stakeholders.
• Self-motivated, proactive, adaptable, and comfortable working with teams having different operating cadences.
• Detail-oriented with technical problem-solving skills to prioritize and manage blocking issues.
• Experience working in highly cross-functional environments where communication across multiple groups is imperative.
• Excellent written and oral business communication and people skills.
• Familiarity with task management tooling such as Asana and Jira.

Nice to have

• Experience developing or working directly on various aspects of large-scale ML/AI platforms.
• Experience with feature development of AI-powered product experiences.
• Passion for building and maintaining products leveraging AI models.

Your Location

This position is US - Remote Eligible. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed with your manager. You must live in a state where Airbnb, Inc. has a registered entity (some states are excluded). If employed by another Airbnb entity, a recruiter will advise eligible states.

Compensation

Pay Range: $179,000—$210,000 USD
