Senior UX Engineer

Consensys (MetaMask) is seeking a Senior UX Engineer to join the Consensys Design team and support MetaMask — a leading crypto wallet and Web3 platform. You'll work across the MetaMask app and browser extension to bridge design and engineering, delivering pixel-perfect, accessible, cross-platform UI and prototypes in React (web) and React Native (mobile) for millions of users.

Responsibilities

• Build pixel-perfect user interfaces with React and React Native for web, mobile, and extension platforms.
• Simplify complex Web3 interactions and deliver a seamless, consistent cross-platform user experience.
• Create intuitive, responsive, and accessible UIs with smooth transitions and performant animations.
• Develop high-fidelity, interactive prototypes to test and validate ideas and enable fast iteration.
• Streamline Figma-to-code handoffs and collaborate closely with product designers and engineers.
• Contribute to and maintain the MetaMask design system: reusable, scalable, accessible components and design tokens.
• Write clean, optimized code focused on performance, animations, interactions, and documentation.
• Maintain high-quality documentation of components, workflows, and best practices.

Requirements / Key Experience

• Strong proficiency in modern JavaScript and TypeScript.
• Deep experience with React and React Native and building interfaces for both web and mobile.
• Proven experience building and scaling high-traffic, consumer-facing products.
• Track record delivering pixel-perfect, high-fidelity interfaces with strong attention to detail.
• Expertise building consistent cross-platform experiences with emphasis on accessibility and performance.
• Hands-on experience with design systems, design tokens, and shared component libraries.
• Proficiency in interaction design and animation frameworks (examples: Rive, Lottie) and optimizing transitions.
• Deep familiarity with Figma and translating designs into well-structured code.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills; able to work independently in global remote teams.
• Passion for user-centered design and making complex tasks simple.
• Knowledge of, or interest in, Web3 technologies; experience with crypto wallets, blockchain, or related products is a bonus.

Compensation

• US pay range (not including bonus, equity or other benefits): $149,000—$210,000 USD (for US-based candidates).
