Responsibilities

  • Work across the stack or dive deep into ML to deliver step-wise improvements to our abuse, spam, financial fraud, child safety, and/or tooling systems.
  • Architect and deliver new systems with a high degree of autonomy.
  • Produce scalable systems capable of handling thousands of events per second.
  • Apply creative problem solving cross-functionally across the entire safety ecosystem, whether it’s through engineering, product, or operations.
  • Code using primarily Scala; Map-Reduce frameworks such as Scalding; and scripting languages such as Python.
  • Potential for technical leadership in payments risk/financial fraud, child safety, or abuse.

Requirements

  • 3+ years working in software engineering or machine learning engineering roles.
  • Proven experience building and operating software services at scale.
  • Experience and familiarity with the modern data pipeline and ML infrastructure ecosystem.
  • Enjoy working in a 0-to-1 space with no known machine learning, engineering, or product solutions, and trailblazing to build novel solutions that work.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Prior experience in Trust and Safety.
  • Fluent in one or more of Java, Scala, Python, or SQL.
  • Familiarity with machine learning.
