Details
This is a 6-month contracting role at Booking NL in the CS AI Automation track, working with CS software engineers to deliver AI features that support customers and CS agents. The contract is full-time (40 hrs/week) and runs from Jul 6, 2026 to Dec 31, 2026. Project ID: 12364-1. Payrate range: 50 - 100 €/hr. Location: Amsterdam, NH (Netherlands).
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain software applications using relevant languages, systems, and tools.
- Write readable, reusable code using standard patterns and libraries; refactor and simplify code by introducing design patterns.
- Ensure application quality through standard testing techniques and maintain a high quality of test automation alongside production code.
- Own services end-to-end: monitor health, performance, and metrics; manage deployment and production operations; document runbooks/OpDocs.
- Reduce business continuity risks using best practices, continuous delivery, and experimentation frameworks.
- Resolve live production issues with minimal customer impact; perform root cause analysis and contribute to postmortems.
- Provide architectural guidance: challenge designs, evaluate architecture decisions, and align solutions with stakeholders.
- Design systems with attention to cost, business needs, infrastructure implications, and future adaptability; accelerate development via prototyping and vendor evaluation.
- Identify and implement process and performance improvements; mentor junior engineers and maintain data security and integrity.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, asking relevant questions and delivering clear, structured information.
Requirements
- Java: mandatory (required expertise for daily development).
- Python: a plus.
- AI/ML knowledge: a plus (experience or familiarity desirable given the CS AI Automation focus).
- Experience or familiarity with test automation, continuous delivery practices, monitoring, incident management, and system design is expected based on role responsibilities.
