Anthropic’s Product Engineering org is looking for engineers with strong full-stack fundamentals to join teams designing, building, and shipping capability across product experiences—from prototype through production. Engineers will pair with product leaders, designers, and researchers to understand new model capabilities and redefine what is possible for users of LLMs.
Responsibilities
- Build developer-facing products and tools (console, SDKs, docs, observability) to enable developers to rely on Claude in critical applications.
- Translate new model capabilities into usable developer experiences (from first prompt to production agent).
- Work on multiple product areas depending on team placement: Developer Experience, Beneficial Deployments, Enterprise Apps/End User, Vertical AI Products (Financial Services, Healthcare, Legal), Enterprise Foundations, or Growth.
- Drive technical quality across the stack: performance, accessibility, reliability, and developer experience.
- Scale systems to millions of users and build foundational systems for large enterprises (user & permissions management, security & compliance features, analytics infrastructure).
- Collaborate cross-functionally to identify adoption blockers and build features that improve activation, engagement, retention, and monetization.
Requirements
- 5+ years of practical full-stack engineering experience, ideally across complex, high-adoption consumer or B2B user-facing products.
- Expert in modern frontend development and backend languages/frameworks (e.g., React, TypeScript).
- Product-focused approach: build robust, scalable, and easy-to-use solutions.
- Experience working in fast-moving environments and ideally building products from 0 to 1.
- Experience driving cross-team alignment to ship impactful work and shaping engineering standards, component architectures, and development best practices.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and deliver high-quality products.
Strong candidates may also have
- Hands-on experience with LLMs, prompt engineering, or building AI-native product features.
- Experience building developer-facing products, APIs, or tooling.
- Prior work on growth, activation, or experimentation (A/B testing, funnel analysis).
- Domain depth in regulated or mission-critical contexts (enterprise, healthcare, legal, financial services, accessibility-focused products).
Logistics
- Location: San Francisco, CA; New York City, NY; Seattle, WA. Preference given to candidates based in NY, NJ, SEA, SF or the Bay Area.
- Location-based hybrid policy: currently expect all staff to be in one of our offices at least 25% of the time.
- Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.
- Visa sponsorship: We do sponsor visas and retain an immigration lawyer; sponsorship availability may vary by role/candidate.

- Annual Salary: $300,000 - $320,000 USD.
