Team

The Agent Productivity Tools (APT) team is part of Coinbase's Enterprise Applications and Architecture organization. It focuses on building customer experience platforms to streamline customer service and compliance processes via innovative services and applications. This improves CX agent efficiency and effectiveness, speeds up issue resolution and compliance KYC processes, and enhances overall customer satisfaction.

Role

You will build applications enabling Coinbase Customer Agents and users to increase productivity, drive automation, and deliver impact at scale using AI/ML-based technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Develop complete user features including front-end and back-end using React, JavaScript frameworks, Golang, and cloud technologies
  • Lead assessment and implementation of third-party AI/ML tools
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, security, data, and engineering teams to solve complex problems
  • Understand and improve Coinbase’s platform, development practices, and technical domains
  • Participate in innovation processes from ideation to execution
  • Anticipate potential issues and adapt approaches accordingly
  • Communicate complex technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Mentor team members on design, coding, testing, deployment, documentation, metrics, and scaling best practices
  • Work effectively with distributed teams across multiple time zones

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years software engineering experience
  • At least 5 years developing large-scale systems with Golang and cloud technologies
  • Experience shipping user-facing features using JavaScript and modern frameworks like React
  • Proven integration of AI/ML APIs into web applications
  • Experience with third-party vendor integrations
  • Background in large-scale, high-traffic platforms and implementing scalable, robust services
  • Skilled in technical architecture authoring and implementation
  • Familiar with AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, BuildKite or equivalents
  • Knowledge of rate limiters, caching, load balancing, circuit breakers, metrics, logging, tracing, debugging
  • Experience with event-driven architectures (Kafka, MQ), proficiency in SQL or NoSQL databases, and understanding of gRPC, GraphQL, ETL concepts
  • Proficiency in Go programming language

Nice to Haves

  • Experience with Python, Ruby
  • SaaS platform experience
  • Knowledge of applications using OpenAI/ChatGPT

Compensation

Target annual salary ranges from $180,625 to $212,500 USD, including target bonus, target equity, and benefits.
