Details

Join a highly skilled engineering team responsible for developing and maintaining HIPPO (Hardware Installation Provisioning Process Orchestrator). HIPPO is an automation platform that orchestrates and streamlines hardware installation and provisioning processes within a large-scale infrastructure environment. As an intern, you will contribute to the further development and optimization of automation workflows that ensure hardware installations are completed efficiently, reliably, and consistently.

Responsibilities

  • Work alongside experienced engineers on a feature that marks hardware installation requests as completed.
  • Perform out-of-band connectivity checks.
  • Verify network port configurations.
  • Validate SAN (Storage Area Network) port connectivity.
  • Execute host power-off procedures.
  • Generate and send completion notifications to requestors, including relevant output information.
  • Software development and automation engineering.
  • Design and implement workflow improvements.
  • Test and validate new functionality.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure and engineering teams.
  • Document solutions and processes.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in the 3rd year of an HBO Computer Science (Informatica) program.
  • Passion for software development, automation, and IT infrastructure.
  • Experience with at least one programming language (examples given: Python, Java, JavaScript, or C#).
  • Basic understanding of networking and operating systems.
  • Analytical mindset and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with automation and orchestration concepts.
  • Knowledge of REST APIs.
  • Understanding of server hardware, storage, or data center environments.
  • Experience with Git and CI/CD practices.
