Details

Bloomberg Broadway builds and delivers high-performance distributed systems that streamline the trading and transacting of money and financial assets. The platform empowers clients to compose, adapt, and scale intelligent systems for Fixed Income markets with a high degree of configurability and control.

This role is a solution-oriented integration position: engineers act as technical engagement leads and domain-focused product owners who collaborate directly with clients to deliver customized workflows and integrations. While some coding may be required, the core focus is systems and integration engineering, solution delivery, and translating business workflows into robust designs.

Responsibilities

  • Design and deploy custom workflows across latency-sensitive distributed trading platforms.
  • Configure and integrate Broadway components to meet nuanced client needs.
  • Act as a domain-focused product owner, defining and shaping incremental delivery through "Micro Product Management."
  • Engage with front-office users and technologists (traders, quants, IT, business leads) to understand workflows and translate them into actionable designs.
  • Own delivery end-to-end: manage requirements, timelines, and solution quality across stakeholder groups.
  • Surface client use cases that inform product design and integration patterns.
  • When needed, extend functionality through light programming (Python, Java, C++, or C#).

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in software engineering, systems integration, or solution architecture in complex enterprise environments.
  • Strong understanding of distributed systems principles and experience troubleshooting, configuring, and optimizing large-scale services.
  • Experience with real-time or high-throughput system environments; experience in capital markets or similarly time-sensitive domains is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills for explaining and guiding both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Familiarity with databases (SQL) and scripting languages to support integration and customization work.
  • Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Experience collaborating directly with customers to deliver software via integration or development.

Preferred

  • Front-office trading or capital markets exposure, especially in Fixed Income.
  • Proven ability to turn business objectives into system designs and integration plans.
  • Curiosity and depth to push past surface-level requirements and design scalable solutions.
  • Self-direction, ownership, and a collaborative mindset.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary Range: 160000 - 240000 USD Annually + Benefits + Bonus.
  • Benefits may include merit increases, incentive compensation (exempt roles only), paid holidays, paid time off, medical, dental, vision, short and long term disability, 401(k) with match, life insurance, and wellness programs. (The Company does not provide benefits directly to contingent workers/contractors and interns.)
