We are looking for a Solution Architect/Staff Engineer to lead the technical implementation of major strategic business initiatives and support various squads throughout the process.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the technical implementation of major strategic business initiatives, organizing the scope for different squads to manage and supporting them throughout the process.
  • Lead the design, planning, and execution of significant strategic technology initiatives, such as transitioning to an event-driven architecture, enhancing application modularity, implementing automation testing, and enabling continuous delivery. Delegate specific responsibilities to squads and provide support throughout the implementation phase.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot complex technical problems, using various tools and techniques to identify root causes and help squads design practical solutions.
  • Support the implementation of automated testing frameworks across the organization to ensure the software is reliable and robust.
  • Continuously monitor production systems performance and behavior, identify problems and propose improvement plans.
  • Help teams to identify and overcome technical debt and issues that reduce productivity.
  • Handle frequent context switches to drive and support the most important initiatives.
  • Support cross-discipline engineers to find balanced solutions to challenges.
  • Continuously report and advise the senior leadership team in planning and designing the technology roadmap.
  • Mentor engineers, helping them grow and overcome obstacles.
  • Promote documentation culture by maintaining technical documents for clear system understanding.

Requirements

  • Teamwork-oriented with a love for collaborating with others.
  • Flexibility to adjust focus between detailed tasks and broader objectives.
  • Deep experience in microservices architecture and distributed systems.
  • Understanding of event-based systems and messaging patterns.
  • 5+ years of backend development experience in PHP, C#, or Java.
  • Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Skills in solving database performance architecture and reliability issues.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Driven to learn and apply learnings moving forward.
  • Motivation to develop high-quality solutions quickly and independently.

Bonus Points For

  • Knowledge of additional architecture patterns, such as CQRS or event-sourcing.
  • Experience with programming languages for Backend systems (Go, PHP, Java/Kotlin/Scala).
  • Leading investigations into production incidents.
  • Driving initiatives in decoupling monolithic architecture into microservices.

Salary
