Details
Anthropic’s mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. The Applied AI team builds trusted technical relationships with systems integrators, startups, and GovTech companies to help them understand the value of Claude and design architectures to integrate and deploy Claude into their technology stacks.
Responsibilities
- Act as a Pre-Sales architect and trusted technical advisor to enterprise government customers from discovery through deployment
- Partner with account executives to translate customer requirements into technical solutions aligned with business objectives
- Support customers building with Claude Code, the Claude API, and Claude for Enterprise
- Create and deliver technical content for diverse audiences (engineering deep dives to executive-level business value conversations)
- Guide technical architecture decisions and help customers integrate Claude into existing tech stacks
- Help customers develop evaluation frameworks (evals) to measure Claude's performance for specific use cases
- Identify common integration patterns and provide feedback to Product and Engineering teams
- Travel frequently to customer sites for workshops, technical deep dives, and relationship building
- Maintain strong knowledge of LLM capabilities and implementation patterns
Requirements
- US Secret Clearance preferred for defense tech customers
- Prior work in government, government contracting, or government tech preferred
- 5+ years of experience in technical customer-facing roles such as Solutions Architect, Sales Engineer, or Technical Account Manager
- Experience navigating complex buying cycles with multiple stakeholders
- Exceptional ability to build relationships and communicate technical concepts to C-suite, engineering, and IT teams
- Strong technical communication skills to translate customer requirements between technical and business stakeholders
- Experience designing scalable cloud architectures and integrating with enterprise systems
- Familiar with Python
- Familiarity with common LLM frameworks and tools, or a background in machine learning or data science
- Excitement for cross-organizational collaboration, working through trade-offs, and balancing competing priorities
- A love of teaching, mentoring, and helping others succeed
Compensation
- Annual Salary: $240,000 - $345,000 USD
Logistics
- Education requirements: At least a Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
- Location-based hybrid policy: staff are expected to be in one of our offices at least 25% of the time (some roles may require more)
- Visa sponsorship: Anthropic states they do sponsor visas and retain an immigration lawyer to assist, though sponsorship is not guaranteed for every role/candidate
- Primary office locations listed: New York City, NY and Washington, DC
