Details

Airbnb was born in 2007 in San Francisco and has since grown to over 5 million hosts who have welcomed over 2 billion guest arrivals worldwide. The Global Markets & Policy Advanced Analytics team is building the data infrastructure, measurement systems, and self-service tools that will power Airbnb's international growth. This is a greenfield opportunity to shape how global teams make nimbler decisions and move from HQ-dependent reporting cycles to fast, local, data-driven action.

Responsibilities

  • Partner directly with Global Markets regional teams, Finance, and Supply to surface local insights, build scalable tooling, and drive measurable impact on core business metrics.
  • Design and build self-service analytics tools and dashboards enabling country teams to monitor performance, deploy local marketing levers, and act without relying on centralized analytics cycles.
  • Translate local business questions into structured analytical frameworks and actionable insights in partnership with country GMs and regional leads.
  • Develop and maintain measurement infrastructure for local marketing programs, including campaign performance tracking, incrementality testing, and contribution to marketing mix models (MMM).
  • Identify and size new growth opportunities across international markets using internal behavioral data, supply/demand signals, and external market data.
  • Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Marketing, Research, and Data Engineering to scope and deliver data and tooling needs into roadmaps.
  • Contribute analytical foundations for building local growth levers (incentives, promotions, merchandising, affiliate programs) for targeting, measurement, and iteration.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in data science, analytics, or business intelligence, ideally within a marketplace, e-commerce, or global consumer technology environment.
  • Expert-level SQL skills.
  • Proficiency in Python or R for data manipulation, modeling, and analysis.
  • Industry experience applying AI technologies for business growth and workflow acceleration; familiarity with AI/LLM-driven discovery/search trends is a plus.
  • Strong experimentation background: fluent in A/B testing, causal inference methods, and incrementality measurement; able to design and interpret experiments independently.
  • Demonstrated experience building self-service data products and tools (dashboards, automated pipelines, decision-support applications) used by non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience working in or supporting international / multi-market business contexts and comfort with cross-cultural data nuances.
  • Exceptional ability to translate complex analytical findings into clear narratives for senior business audiences.
  • Proven track record of operating autonomously in fast-moving, ambiguous environments and delivering high-quality work across multiple priorities.
  • Collaborative, low-ego working style; success measured by decisions your work influences.
  • Familiarity with modern data stack tooling (e.g., dbt, Airflow, Tableau, Looker) and experience working closely with Data Engineering to productionize analytical work.

Preferred Experience

  • Supply/demand modeling or geo-based analytics in a marketplace setting.
  • Exposure to growth marketing analytics (SEM, paid social, performance channels).
  • Familiarity with marketing analytics and measurement methodologies, including marketing mix modeling (MMM) and attribution.
