Grafana Cloud is a fully managed observability platform built for scale with AI capabilities. The company is 100% remote with 1,600+ team members across 40+ countries.
The Opportunity
The Grafana Alerting squad operates at the core of the Grafana open-source project and its mission is to provide users with deep alert management. The backend-focused team works closely with customers and Grafana Cloud teams to make Alerting work on-premises and at infinite scale in Cloud. Example projects include:
- Building distributed systems to scale alert ingestion and delivery of Prometheus-based alerts
- Unifying Alerting setup and delivery to work the same for Grafana and Prometheus-based alerts
- Building distributed systems to scale alert evaluation of Grafana-managed alerts (reaching over 500 evaluations per second in production)
This is a remote opportunity and the team is interested in applications from Spain.
Responsibilities
- Influence the roadmap and define your own career objectives
- Work with the team to deliver new features and iterate based on results
- Drive projects from ideation through to production and ongoing operations
- Embrace and contribute to open-source projects beyond the team scope
- Design, build, operate, and maintain critical systems, owning reliability, performance, and availability
- Participate in on-call rotations and take ownership of services in production
- Mentor and support other team members and participate in design discussions
- Learn and deepen understanding of Grafana Cloud, customers, and a large distributed codebase
Requirements
- Motivated self-starter with a bias toward action and strong communication skills for a remote-first environment
- Customer-focused with a passion for creating intuitive products that meet customer needs
- Pragmatic approach: break complex challenges down, deliver MVPs, gather feedback, and iterate
- Solid experience with at least one programming language (Grafana uses Go; familiarity with Python, Java, C++, Rust, or similar translates well)
- Experience delivering projects end-to-end, from requirements to shipping to customers
- Some experience with developing software that runs in the Cloud or experience with systems engineering
- Experience writing clean, robust, performant, and maintainable software
Compensation & Rewards
- Spain compensation range: EUR 94,025 - EUR 112,830
- All roles include Restricted Stock Units (RSUs)
