The Consumer Data Science team plays a pivotal role in realizing Reddit’s mission of fostering community and belonging through deep understanding of user connections to content and other users.

Responsibilities

• Build long-term product strategies by identifying new user acquisition, engagement, and retention opportunities
• Provide data-driven insights to influence strategic roadmaps based on user behaviors and needs
• Design metrics to evaluate business health and product success, including necessary ETL development
• Manage experimentation design, execution, and analysis to maximize learning and guide investments
• Develop self-service tools for product and engineering teams to answer key questions and enhance data literacy
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product, engineering, and design to ensure insights inform the product
• Mentor junior data scientists, improve processes, and provide perspective on critical data science challenges

Requirements

• Ph.D., M.S., or Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Machine Learning, Economics, Computer Science, or related quantitative fields
• If M.S. or Bachelor's, minimum 6+ years industry data science experience; if Ph.D., minimum 4+ years experience
• Expert knowledge of SQL and relational databases
• Familiarity with statistical analysis and programming in R or Python
• Proven ability to influence product strategy using data
• Strong problem-solving skills using structured, hypothesis-driven, data-supported approaches
• Knowledge of causal inference techniques and causal models
• Excellent communication skills and experience engaging senior leaders and stakeholders
• Entrepreneurial, self-directed, and enthusiastic problem solver
• Experience mentoring data scientists and elevating data science practices
• Ability to thrive in innovative, fast-paced environments with a bias toward action
• Capable of discussing complex topics with both technical and non-technical audiences

Additional Information

• Remote-friendly position for the US with office locations in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York
• Salary range: $217,000 - $303,900 USD base pay
• Eligible for equity in restricted stock units and potentially commissions depending on position offered
