The Dark Web Monitoring Team is a mission-driven, cross-functional team focused on identifying emerging dark-web threats and delivering insights. This team originated from Nord Security's Risk Management and Information Security departments and is now focused on developing its own standalone cybersecurity product, NordStellar. NordStellar is our new threat exposure management solution for businesses. We bring our expertise to empower proactive security leaders with a crucial insight: what hackers know about their business. NordStellar enables companies to detect and respond to cyber threats before they escalate. The platform monitors thousands of cybercrime communities and dark-web sites, providing cybersecurity teams with the right information and tools for better decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Own the technical vision, driving system architecture and long-term evolution across multiple domains (Web Scraping & Data Processing).
- Lead and execute R&D efforts to explore new technologies or approaches; produce proofs-of-concept and translate findings into actionable engineering work.
- Conduct high-level technical reviews, including architecture, design, and code reviews.
- Solve deep, complex problems in large distributed systems and proactively identify systemic issues.
- Uphold engineering standards, ensuring code quality, testing rigor, and compliance with security, risk, and legal requirements.
- Act as a senior technical mentor, elevating the skills and impact of other engineers.
- Collaborate closely with product and engineering leadership, developing a deep understanding of the domain to align technical direction with business goals.
Requirements
- Exceptional backend engineering proficiency, ideally with experience in Go or Python.
- Strong system design skills (both low- and high-level), with the ability to select and apply appropriate architectural patterns.
- Extensive experience with microservices and distributed, large-scale systems, including event-driven architectures.
- Deep understanding of databases and data systems, including ACID guarantees, PACELC trade-offs, and handling extremely large data flows.
- Hands-on experience with deployment, scaling strategies, resource optimization, and a solid understanding of modern infrastructure.
- Ability to balance engineering best practices with real-world business needs, making thoughtful trade-offs when necessary.
