Staff Fullstack Engineer, Reservation Management

Airbnb, founded in 2007, has grown to over 5 million hosts and more than 2 billion guest arrivals worldwide. The Reservation Management team focuses on critical surfaces, flows, and platforms surrounding the booking experience for guests and hosts, managing systems for recording all orders and supporting products like travel insurance and Experiences.

Responsibilities

• Design technical systems balancing strategic product goals and existing system knowledge for short and long term tradeoffs.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership and guide teams in building technical solutions.
• Engage with designers, product managers, and stakeholders early to help align product and UX requirements.
• Promote a culture of technical quality from design to production.
• Mentor engineers to develop their technical and collaboration skills.
• Identify and propose solutions to engineering and product challenges.
• Collaborate across multiple internal teams such as Search, Checkout, Reservations, Payments, Tax, and Trust.
• Establish technical vision and deliver scalable, efficient, and flexible solutions.

Requirements

• 9+ years of software development experience in a fast-paced tech environment.
• Expertise in backend systems within large-scale service-oriented architectures.
• Sound judgment to balance short-term business needs with long-term technical quality.
• Strong understanding of backend system integration with user interfaces.
• End-to-end mindset to find globally optimal solutions across teams.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Passion for efficiency, availability, system quality, and user experience.

Location

This position is US-Remote eligible with occasional office or offsite attendance. Employment is available only in certain states due to registered entities.

Benefits

• Base pay range: $204,000 - $255,000 USD, subject to factors like experience and market demands.
• Eligibility for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.
