Join the pioneering Country Expansion team to boost cryptocurrency adoption in the Americas (AMER). As Staff Software Engineer, you will lead engineers in Canada and Brazil, collaborating with Country Directors, Product Managers, UX Designers, Customer Support, and cross-functional teams to tailor the Coinbase app for regional customer needs.

You will gain deep insights into the Canadian and LATAM cryptocurrency landscape, shaping Coinbase's strategy and driving innovative features that enhance customer experience and adoption.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a team of 7-8 engineers delivering AMER market-specific features.
• Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables with technical expertise.
• Mentor and train team members on design techniques and coding standards.
• Analyze Coinbase systems to provide launch solutions.
• Define and execute a roadmap from team and stakeholder opportunities.
• Identify gaps in user experience using Coinbase and competitors apps.
• Collaborate with Country Managers, Product Managers, UX designers, Customer Support, and leadership to identify feature opportunities.
• Address customer experience issues and drive solutions.
• Oversee design of scalable, reliable, reusable solutions for other teams.
• Exhibit bias for action and data-driven decisions for rapid experimentation.
• Foster positive, inclusive team interactions.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software engineering experience.
• Strong understanding of high-quality code and effective engineering processes.
• Execution-focused mindset comfortable with ambiguity.
• Balance long-term strategies with short-term planning.
• Experience with multi-tenanted, distributed systems at scale.
• Delivered full stack projects.
• Willingness to manage engineers and transition to a managerial role.

Nice to Haves

• Active involvement in crypto products.
• Fluency in Spanish, Portuguese, or French (English fluency required).
• Familiarity with onchain activity: Ethereum addresses, ENS, dApps, blockchain services.
