Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners on Product and Design to triage, scope, and evaluate feasibility of proposed features and functionality.
- Identify new opportunities for impact on system functionality, resiliency, and quality.
- Mentor engineers across the Community Support Platform Engineering team.
- Influence cross-org quality initiatives to reduce defect introduction rate, reduce incident detection time, and refine incident response processes.
- Be a collaborative teammate that elevates the engineering organization.
Requirements
- 9+ years of backend software development experience.
- Strong proficiency in at least one major backend programming language (e.g., Java, Kotlin, Scala, Python).
- Proven track record delivering backend solutions collaboratively from planning through launch.
- Experience with architectural patterns of large-scale systems, including APIs, high-volume data pipelines, and efficient algorithms.
- Ability to make data-driven decisions, articulate technical trade-offs, and communicate effectively with cross-functional partners.
- Passion for robust solutions and keen interest in data systems and analytics.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.

- The base pay range is $204,000 to $255,000 USD and may vary based on factors such as training, transferable skills, experience, business needs, and market demands.
- Remote eligible within the US states where Airbnb, Inc. has a registered entity, with occasional office or offsite presence as agreed with manager.

- Part of Community Support Platform (CSP) engineering that builds tools for global Community Support ambassadors.
- Supports backend initiatives for the Core Service Experience team to empower global support agents.
- Drives technical strategy for Integrated Knowledge Management platform enabling content leverage across internal and external users, including Conversational AI and LLM applications.
- Develop machine learning approaches for structured insights to improve customer issue resolution and process improvements.
- High visibility, collaborating across engineering, data science, product, and operations teams.
