Details

Consensys (MetaMask) is looking for a Staff UX Researcher to drive strategic, mixed-methods research across MetaMask product initiatives (perpetuals trading, predictions, RWAs, sports betting, saving, remittances, and crypto spending). You will work on tools, infrastructure, and apps that scale these platforms, and be part of a global, remote-first team.

This is a full-time, senior IC role embedded within a MetaMask product team. The position is remote and global; US-based candidate pay range is provided below.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end mixed-methods research: plan, design, and execute discovery, evaluative, generative, and strategic research using qualitative and quantitative methods.
  • Select and tailor methods (interviews, diary studies, usability tests, surveys, concept testing) to answer high-priority product and design questions.
  • Deliver robust, timely, decision-quality insights aligned with product milestones and decision points.
  • Communicate insights via presentations, workshops, artifacts, dashboards, and narratives for audiences from ICs to Executives.
  • Establish and evolve research best practices, processes, and templates that scale across teams.
  • Partner with Product, Design, Marketing, Data, and Engineering leads to define research questions, success criteria, and learning roadmaps.
  • Translate complex findings into clear, actionable recommendations that influence roadmaps, feature definitions, and UX decisions.
  • Identify trade-offs, risks, and opportunities grounded in user behavior and market context.
  • Champion user-centered thinking in planning and prioritization forums.
  • Work across product lanes and with other UX Researchers to uncover shared user needs and systemic UX issues.
  • Maintain a Continuous Discovery program supporting an always-on understanding of users.
  • Contribute to Designer Enablement by training designers, PMs, and marketers to self-serve evaluative research; coach stakeholders and create lightweight frameworks and tools.
  • Mentor and support other researchers and cross-functional partners.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of hands-on UX research experience, including at least 3 years in a senior or staff-level role driving strategy in complex product areas.
  • Deep experience with mixed methods research: strong qualitative craft and working knowledge of quantitative techniques, including survey design and basic statistics.
  • Demonstrated success owning end-to-end research for multi-surface or multi-product ecosystems; ideal experience in fintech, trading, or similarly complex financial domains.
  • Proven track record of influencing senior stakeholders and shaping product roadmaps through research in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
  • Ability to translate nuanced, sometimes conflicting data into clear, prioritized recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with experience presenting to leadership and broad, cross-functional audiences.
  • Strong collaboration skills and experience partnering closely with Product Management, Design, and Engineering.
  • Role requires background checks (employment, education, criminal record checks) as a condition of employment.

Bonus / Context

  • You will be embedded within a specific MetaMask product team and report into the broader UX Research function.
  • Operating with a high degree of ownership and autonomy is expected.
  • Remote-first role; the team is distributed across six continents.

Compensation

  • The salary range for US-based candidates (not including bonus, equity, or other benefits): $146,000—$218,000 USD. The final US pay range will be determined throughout the interview process depending on experience and skills.

Benefits

  • Competitive benefits package
  • Equity when you join
  • Continuous learning & development (Consensys Advance Program, Coursera access)
  • Unlimited vacation/holidays and company-wide “zero productivity” days
  • Flexible working arrangements and remote-first culture
  • Recognized presence in the blockchain and Web3 ecosystem
