Details

Bloomberg runs on data. Our products are fueled by powerful information. We combine data and context to paint the whole picture for our clients, around the clock — from around the world. In Data, we are responsible for delivering this data, news, and analytics through innovative technology — quickly and accurately. We apply problem-solving skills to identify workflow efficiencies and implement technology solutions to enhance our systems, products, and processes.

Team

The Equity Corporate Actions Data team underpins Bloomberg’s Terminal and enterprise services by sourcing, validating, and publishing accurate equity reference and corporate-actions information — from distributions, to mergers & acquisitions, stock splits, spin-offs, and beyond — to hundreds of thousands of users worldwide. This role focuses on leading coverage of deal-related datasets, including mergers & acquisitions, IPOs, and private deals.

Role Summary

This is a people-leadership role based in Princeton. You will lead and develop a team of Corporate Actions analysts covering the Americas region to ensure consistent standards for accurate and timely financial data delivery. You will drive day-to-day product offerings, leverage technology to automate and evolve the data product, and collaborate extensively with global colleagues across Product, Engineering, and News.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of Corporate Actions analysts, setting clear targets and coaching for continuous improvement.
  • Connect daily tasks to long-term data-product strategy and foster big-picture thinking across the team.
  • Instill a high-performance, feedback-rich culture that recognizes excellence and drives continuous learning.
  • Embed robust governance frameworks to safeguard consistency and integrity across every data element.
  • Orchestrate automation at scale — combine AI/ML extraction with structured data-management techniques using proprietary and industry-standard tools to streamline validation, enrichment, and reconciliation.
  • Track and ensure fit-for-purpose quality via KPIs (accuracy, timeliness, completeness, coverage, continuity) and rapidly correct anomalies surfaced by business-intelligence analytics.
  • Partner with Product and Engineering to evolve data-model architecture, integrate new sources, and pilot LLM-powered solutions to deliver measurable client value.
  • Uphold strict SLAs, resolve incidents quickly, and translate client feedback into prioritized backlog items that improve user satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with at least 4 years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
  • 3+ years leading a high-performing team of data analysts or subject-matter experts, with experience setting targets and coaching for performance.
  • Deep hands-on expertise in data quality, data modelling, and data engineering, and familiarity with modern processing paradigms, tools, and architectures.
  • Experience building and operationalizing production-grade data pipelines that ingest, normalize, validate, publish, and continuously improve large-scale financial datasets.
  • Advanced SQL and Python (or similar languages) proficiency and the ability to provide guidance to teammates developing automation pipelines and data validation rules.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Equity Corporate Actions domain, particularly datasets related to mergers & acquisitions, IPOs, and private deals, and an understanding of downstream use cases.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills with the ability to explain complex data-management concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills to turn data insights into actionable improvements.

Nice to Have

  • Advanced degree in a data-related discipline or a recognized credential such as DAMA CDMP.
  • Contribution to corporate actions working groups or standards bodies demonstrating thought leadership in data-management best practices.
