Airbnb, a global platform connecting millions of hosts and guests worldwide, seeks a Tech Lead Manager (TLM) for the Host Pricing organization. This team focuses on creating pricing guidance tools that enable Airbnb hosts to implement dynamic pricing strategies aligned with their goals.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of Backend and Data engineers to deliver scalable pricing guidance solutions.
  • Develop and enhance pricing guidance strategies in collaboration with cross-functional teams including ML engineers, PMs, Designers, and Data Scientists.
  • Ensure the infrastructure supporting pricing guidance models is scalable, extensible, and high throughput.
  • Act as a liaison between ML and Product teams to ensure rapid model training, deployment, and product flexibility.
  • Evaluate the impact of model changes on user experience and optimize accordingly.
  • Collaborate with product and internal engineering teams to align on goals and deliverables.
  • Innovate guidance and personalization strategies to increase user engagement and satisfaction.
  • Mentor and enhance the technical skills and productivity of team members.

Requirements

  • Over 10 years of relevant industry experience, with 2+ years in marketplaces and/or pricing domain preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years in a technical leadership role, preferably as a Tech Lead Manager.
  • Hands-on experience in machine learning, recommendation systems, and data-driven product development.
  • Strong communication skills suited to diverse technical and senior audiences.
  • Strategically able to define and execute 1+ year technical/product vision.
  • Prior experience in multi-sided marketplaces is advantageous.
