Viz / Graphics Operator - Contract

Bloomberg Media is looking for an individual with a proactive attitude who is focused, flexible, and proficient in several aspects of broadcast operations, and who can work collaboratively in a live control room and studio environment. This role will provide coverage in a viz/graphics operator capacity to work collaboratively in control room and live studio environments, supporting operations, on-air talent, engineering, editorial teams, and global counterparts to ensure quality visual production daily.

Responsibilities

• Move quickly and accurately under pressure in a fast-paced live broadcast environment.
• Collaborate with technical team and editorial personnel to ensure a quality visual presentation.
• Read, follow and execute all relevant tasks outlined in a live news broadcast rundown.
• Operate a live broadcast graphics rundown, firing lower-third and full-screen graphics while communicating with control room crew and editorial colleagues.
• Load set panoramas to video wall engines in NY and global studio surfaces; assign graphic elements into appropriate channels to be routed into video surfaces in coordination with other control room positions.
• Change graphics in the wall engines as cued by technical and editorial personnel.
• Follow breaking news developments and quickly match relevant graphics with on-air conversation as they become available.
• Communicate with Operations Team Leads on issues that will impact the team and broadcasts.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or 2 years of experience working in a live TV environment.
• 2 years of experience operating within the Vizrt ecosystem or with relevant live graphics software (Xpression, Chyron).
• Ability to complete tasks with a high level of accuracy under tight deadlines in high-pressure live broadcast situations.
• Familiarity with ENPS or other relevant broadcast news rundown software.
• Strong desire to work as part of a team in a highly collaborative environment.
• Ability to manage multiple streams of information simultaneously while operating live graphics systems.
• Must have flexibility to work holidays, early mornings, late evenings and weekends.

Compensation

• Salary Range: 45 - 50 USD Hourly
