About the team

OpenAI’s mission is to build safe artificial general intelligence (AGI) which benefits all of humanity. The Go To Market (GTM) team helps customers learn how to leverage and deploy OpenAI’s AI products across their business. The team includes Sales, Solutions, Support, Marketing, and Partnership professionals who create solutions to bring AI to many users.

About the role

This role combines technical understanding, vision, partnership, and value-driven strategy to help customers understand the impact of highly capable AI models on their business. You will drive opportunities through the entire sales cycle, from pipeline generation to closure, working with researchers, engineers, and solution strategists to help customers evolve their industry with AI. The role is based in San Francisco, Seattle, or New York, uses a hybrid work model of 3 days in the office per week, and OpenAI is open to US-based remote candidates. Relocation assistance is offered to new employees.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a small number of key accounts and develop/execute comprehensive account plans
  • Lead enterprise prospects’ journeys from consideration to successful deployment
  • Partner with solutions and research engineering to build and execute complex customer programs and projects
  • Own a consumption revenue target and manage consumption revenue forecasts
  • Generate pipeline and drive opportunities through the sales cycle to closure
  • Analyze key account metrics to create reports and provide insights to internal and external stakeholders
  • Monitor industry landscape (people, competitors, partners) to contribute to product roadmap and corporate strategies
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with solutions, marketing, communications, business operations, people operations, finance, product management, and engineering
  • Support recruitment and onboarding of teammates and contribute to company culture

Requirements

  • 14+ years selling platform-as-a-service (PaaS) and/or software-as-a-service (SaaS)
  • Proven track record achieving revenue targets greater than $2M per year for more than 3 years
  • Strong experience in enterprise sales, account management, and technical/solution sales working with engineering and research teams
  • Experience with revenue forecasting, pipeline generation, and analyzing account metrics to drive business decisions
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence product and corporate strategy

  • Base pay range listed: $280,000 – $350,000 (varies by market location and individual factors). Role offers equity and may include performance-related bonus(es)
