About the role

We are looking for a seasoned AI Adoption Manager to join our Strategic Accounts team, working with our largest, most complex, and innovative Enterprise customers. You will be crucial to the success of our largest customer(s) and instrumental in driving adoption, consumption, and value of OpenAI’s offerings. You will be responsible for understanding customers' needs and delivering an excellent experience, and will collaborate closely with Sales, Product, Marketing, Partnerships, and Engineering.

The ideal candidate has a successful track record of managing and growing Fortune 500 customers, delivering strategic advice, and driving customer success. You must understand business drivers, strategic goals, and desired outcomes for a portfolio of large enterprise customers (typically 1–3). You will lead cross-functional partnerships across named customers and identify new ways the platform can differentiate them in the market.

This role is based in our San Francisco HQ or remote in New York City. We offer relocation support to new employees.

Responsibilities

  • Advise and partner with the world’s largest and most complex enterprises to drive AI adoption and business transformation with OpenAI’s offerings.
  • Create and implement customer success plans that outline goals, potential challenges, KPIs, and timelines.
  • Monitor the industry landscape (people, competitors, partners) to contribute to product roadmap and corporate strategy.
  • Travel ~15% of the time to develop and nurture strong customer relationships and understand their business goals and needs.
  • Strategize and execute initiatives to deliver an exceptional customer experience.
  • Own the relationship with Product for largest customers who are pushing product boundaries.
  • Act as an AI thought leader with customers and combine that with deep industry expertise to drive adoption; share and scale insights across the CS team.
  • Implement and run use-case development and enablement sessions that can scale across regions and lines of business.
  • Gather and relay customer feedback to internal stakeholders and identify themes to inform product planning.
  • Collaborate closely with Sales for seamless pre- to post-sale handoffs.
  • Anticipate at-risk renewals or user churn and coordinate corrective action plans with internal teams.
  • Foster customer advocacy and facilitate testimonials and case studies.

Requirements

  • 8+ years in customer-facing roles, preferably with a technical enterprise product.
  • 5+ years managing relationships with large, global, and complex organizations.
  • Experience working with Global 1000 / Fortune 500 customers with multiple stakeholders, and managing success programs as a key advisor to global and regional organizations.
  • Highly skilled at building deep and broad relationships across complex, matrixed organizations.
  • Experience as a thought leader with a customer base.
  • Exceptional presentation and communication skills, especially with executives and leaders.
  • Ability to expertly communicate technical concepts to customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to proactively identify product and customer pain points.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize, and operate with high ownership.
