In this role you will work on next-generation personalization experiences to improve user happiness by making content highly relevant, personal, and inspiring. You will architect and implement personalization platforms and models that convert LLM content into personalized machine learning signals and deliver recommendations at scale.

Responsibilities

• Architect and build the next generation of personalization platform and models that form the foundation of a highly personalized Perplexity user journey.
• Build effective data pipelines and models for LLM content and convert them into personalized ML signals that drive customized recommendations.
• Work across the stack to deliver various types of models (LLM to DNN) to end users in a scalable and performant way.
• Partner with product managers and engineering teams to ensure fast, high-quality deliverables to end users.

Requirements

• Strong programming skills with the ability to work across the stack in a typical recommendation system or LLM stack.
• Experience training deep neural networks (DNNs) and Transformer architectures.
• Experience working with LLM APIs for tasks such as fine-tuning, prompt mining, or prototyping new ideas.
• Ability to make tradeoffs when choosing between different model types and approaches.
• Self-motivated, willing to take ownership of tasks, and passionate about shipping quality products.
• 4+ years of industry experience.

Compensation & Benefits

• Cash compensation range: $200,000 - $280,000 per year. Final offer amounts are determined by factors such as experience and expertise and may vary from the amounts listed above.
• Equity may be part of the total compensation package.
