At Coinbase, the Security Operations Team protects customers and employees by preventing, detecting, and responding to sophisticated threats. As an Analyst on Institutional Trust & Safety, you will build and own the operational security framework for institutional clients, guide incident response, and drive proactive risk management to ensure the safety of Coinbase's institutional business line.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the dedicated Trust & Safety (T&S) expert for the Institutional team; provide guidance on product development, feature rollouts, and operational readiness so security is foundational to institutional offerings.
- Build and own institutional-specific tooling and processes; gain expert knowledge of institutional tools and systems and partner with technical teams to define requirements and ensure effective monitoring and investigation capabilities.
- Lead incident management for institutional-related security incidents; act as the primary T&S point of contact, coordinate with internal teams (Institutional, Engineering, Legal) and manage partner communications to drive timely and effective resolution.
- Develop, document, and maintain operational policies and procedures for institutional account security, including identity verification, security protocols, and account recovery.
- Continuously evaluate and improve tools and processes to enhance effectiveness and operational readiness.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in Trust & Safety, Risk Management, Fraud Prevention, or a related operational field with a proven track record handling complex investigations.
- Strong operational mindset with ownership of incident response efforts and the ability to drive investigations to resolution with urgency and precision.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills; able to translate complex security concepts into clear, actionable guidance for technical and non-technical partners.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and experienced in building and implementing policies and processes from the ground up.
- Experience leading investigations and working cross-functionally with engineering, legal, and institutional teams.
Nice to Haves
- Prior experience working with institutional, corporate, or B2B clients in financial services or technology.
- Experience with SQL or other data analysis tools to support investigations.
- Familiarity with cryptocurrency and blockchain technology and associated risks.
- Formal training in project management or process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean Six Sigma).
Work Location & Culture
- Coinbase is remote-first but not remote-only; in-person participation is required throughout the year (team and company offsites are held multiple times annually). Attendance at these events is expected and supported.

- Pay Range (target annual salary): €108,753 — €108,753 EUR. Full-time offers also include target bonus, target equity, and benefits.
