Details

ING Americas Tech supports the Americas Wholesale Banking business (Financial Markets, Lending & Capital Markets) by maintaining systems in collaboration with global teams and building/maintaining local applications. The Stream Aligned Team and DevOps Engineers work with infrastructure, technology operations and cross-functional teams to support US businesses. ING Americas follows a hybrid work model, allowing for in-office / work from home flexibility. Occasional travel abroad (Amsterdam / Brussels) may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform incident and problem management activities, including root cause analysis to determine the actual failure cause and implement structural fixes. Communicate directly with users (Traders, Trading Risk Managers) across Amsterdam, London, Brussels, New York and Singapore.
  • Provide level-2 support in deploying and running an application/stack in production, including participation in an on-call rotation.
  • Find opportunities to automate testing of existing features (functional, performance, security) and automate deployments, monitoring, and other operational tasks.
  • Perform data improvements by (re)configuring new and existing products, reports and scheduled processes.
  • Understand the entire technology stack on which the application runs and how it fits in the overall chain.
  • Build, enhance and maintain tooling and scripts to automate repetitive or error-prone tasks and implement appropriate event alerts.
  • Perform functional testing and change management activities to ensure safe deliveries from Test to Acceptance to Production.
  • Occasional international travel (Amsterdam / Brussels).

Requirements

Experience & domain knowledge:

  • Financial knowledge on interest rate and FX derivatives valuation and market risk modelling (for example: Greeks and VaR).
  • Experience offering functional incident management on a front-office pricing application used within the Financial Markets domain worldwide.
  • Experience supporting end users in using applications; enriching back-end databases with new products, reports and scheduled tasks.

Tech stack & skills:

  • Advanced knowledge of MS SQL Server and Transact-SQL.
  • Advanced knowledge of interest rate derivatives valuation.
  • Comfortable Excel user.
  • Scripting knowledge (PowerShell, Python, Bash) is a strong plus.
  • Experience with tools like ServiceNow, Confluence, Azure DevOps is a plus.
  • Familiarity with IT Service Management / ITIL processes is a plus.
  • Customer-focused with a mindset to find and resolve root causes of incidents to structurally improve the customer experience.
  • Good team player, cross-functional, able to interact with people of all levels in a multicultural environment; proactive and attentive to others' needs.
