NVIDIA is seeking an Applied Machine Learning Engineer to work on projects at the intersection of machine learning and VLSI/circuit design. You will work within multi-functional teams on pre-silicon and post-silicon circuit design data, circuit/layout optimization, and SPICE correlation. The role involves translating engineering requirements into data science problems, architecting and building solutions, and integrating models with existing ML and visualization tools.
Responsibilities
- Work within a multi-functional team on projects involving pre-silicon and post-silicon custom circuit design and related data, circuit/layout optimization, and SPICE correlation.
- Analyze silicon and manufacturing process variation data; apply analysis to VLSI circuit design and timing.
- Translate engineering requirements into data science problems; architect, build, test, and release ML solutions that integrate with existing machine learning and visualization tools.
- Analyze datasets, raise and validate hypotheses, extract relevant features, and build models on top of them.
- Optimize models and algorithms until they reach desired quality of results (QOR).
Requirements
- MS with 3+ years experience or PhD with 1+ years experience in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
- Strong domain experience: VLSI, circuit design, CMOS device physics, timing, ASIC, and EDA (these are strict requirements for the role).
- Proven software programming ability in Python and C++ (required).
- Experience in applied math, machine learning, and software programming.
- Experience with ML/DL frameworks and big-data tools (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Spark) is a plus.
- Prior experience in CMOS layout drawing, schematic-to-layout translation, and DRC/LVS compliance is a definite plus.
Ways to stand out
- Enjoy working across multiple levels and teams (engineering/research, product, sales, and marketing).
- Effective verbal/written communication and technical presentation skills.
- Self-starter with passion for growth, continuous learning, and sharing findings across the team.
Benefits & Compensation
- Base salary range (determined by location, experience, and comparable roles):
- Level 3: 136,000 USD - 212,750 USD
- Level 4: 168,000 USD - 264,500 USD
- You will also be eligible for equity and benefits (see NVIDIA benefits page).
Additional information
- Applications for this job will be accepted at least until September 1, 2025.
- NVIDIA is an equal opportunity employer and values diversity.
