Information about the position

We see design as a crucial element of achieving our mission, so designers are represented at all levels, including senior leadership. As our new Area Product Design Director, you'll shape how tens of millions of members experience safety, from fraud prevention to support.

You will lead an Area combining three domains:

• Trust - Designing experiences that detect, prevent and resolve fraud, abuse, and policy violations while maintaining seamless user flows
• Security - Creating secure authentication, account protection, and identity verification experiences that balance safety with accessibility
• Help Experience - Building support systems and self-service tools that resolve member issues efficiently

Together, these domains ensure Vinted remains a safe and reliable place to trade second-hand goods, which is a fundamental need of our members. You'll be accountable for the quality of user experience across this area.

In this position, you’ll

• Lead the user experience vision and strategy for the domains in the area, partnering with research, product, engineering, and data science leadership in strategic planning
• Voice the members' needs - Represent member perspectives in strategic decisions and ensure their trust and safety needs drive product direction
• Ensure high-quality design execution across all three domains, maintaining consistent craft standards and design excellence
• Build and develop the design team through recruiting, hiring, performance reviews, and supporting the growth of designers and design leaders
• Drive sustainable solutions - Collaborate with business and legal stakeholders to deliver member experiences that balance quality, cost efficiency, and compliance requirements

About you

• Proven experience building 0-to-1 products and scaling platforms in complex product domains
• Have an eye and passion for great design
• Are a customer-centric strategist who understands the business side of product design
• Strong business acumen - ability to connect design decisions to business outcomes and user trust metrics
• Track record of building high-performing design delivery and leadership teams
• Are an empathetic team leader who cares and helps their team to grow through constructive feedback
• Are a lifelong learner who continuously strives for knowledge and a deeper understanding
• Are an excellent communicator, including in written and spoken English
• Bonus points for experience designing for trust & safety, risk mitigation, or fraud prevention; Experience with AI/ML-powered detection and moderation systems

The salary range for this position is €105,100 - €142,100 gross per year.
