The Associate Principal, Strategic Finance & Analytics (SFA) within the CBO organization partners with business leaders across supply, quality, product, and finance to drive financial planning, analytics, and strategy. This role provides actionable insights and financial guidance to senior leadership to shape key business decisions and improve growth and profitability in host-facing supply and partnership areas.
Responsibilities
- Own budget tracking and approvals across teams: ensure accuracy, compliance, and alignment with organizational priorities; monitor expenditures and coordinate documentation and justification for budget requests.
- Lead and support annual and quarterly planning processes in partnership with business teams to align financial and strategic goals.
- Define, lead, and improve operating processes including business reviews, financial reporting, and strategic forecasting.
- Lead or support strategic initiatives aimed at improving financial outcomes and operational efficiency; ensure initiatives ladder up to the overall business P&L.
- Provide actionable financial insights through detailed reporting and analytics; partner with Data Science teams to enhance data accessibility, automation, and perform in-depth financial investigations.
- Analyze business trends and drivers of variance; synthesize complex data into concise recommendations for senior leadership.
- Prepare and present financial reports, performance updates, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership and other stakeholders.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in financial planning, analysis, and business strategy; experience from management consulting, business operations, and financial roles is preferred.
- B.A. or B.S. in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field; MBA or CPA is a plus.
- Proven experience in P&L management, revenue forecasting, and financial modeling.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and experience with financial reporting tools.
- Advanced level of SQL expertise required to be self-sufficient in extracting, analyzing, and reporting on summarized data structures.
- Strong strategic and critical thinking skills; ability to synthesize financial data and make recommendations that drive business outcomes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to present complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders and senior leadership.
- Strong leadership and influencing skills; comfortable leading cross-functional teams and working in a fast-paced environment.
- Proactive, collaborative, and aligned with company values and sound judgment.
Benefits & Compensation
- Base pay range: $145,000 — $170,000 USD (actual base pay depends on factors such as experience, skills, and market demand).
- This role may be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.
- Remote-eligible for candidates residing in U.S. states where Airbnb, Inc. has a registered entity; may include occasional office work or attendance at offsites as agreed with manager.
