This is a 12-week internship during summer 2026.

As an Associate Product Manager Intern at Coinbase you'll be responsible for driving the development of innovative products that align with our mission to create an open financial system. You’ll work cross-functionally with engineering, design, and business teams to define product strategies, prioritize roadmaps, and deliver impactful solutions that meet customer needs. With a strong focus on data-driven decision-making, customer insights, and emerging trends in crypto and blockchain, you’ll help ensure Coinbase remains at the forefront of the industry while delivering exceptional user experiences.

You will have the opportunity to specify your top team choice within the Product Group org (Base, Developer, Consumer, Institutional, Platform) or the Core Group org (HR, EAA). Please carefully review the team descriptions below and select one team that best aligns with your interests and goals, as your application will be primarily considered for.

Teams & internship locations

Product Group Teams (internship location = San Francisco):

• Base: an Ethereum Layer 2 blockchain incubated within Coinbase, built on the open-source OP Stack in collaboration with Optimism. Base includes an app (formerly Coinbase Wallet) and builder tools that connect developers to Coinbase users and assets.
• Consumer: builds the Coinbase retail app, advanced trade, dApps, staking, and self-custody wallet experiences.
• Developer: provides developer tools, APIs and SDKs for payments, trading, wallets, stablecoins, and other onchain tools for businesses.
• Institutional: builds platforms for financial institutions including custody, staking, governance, Onchain gateways, and user interfaces across web, mobile, and browser extensions.
• Platform: creates foundational systems (Identity, FinHub, Payments) that support Coinbase products and leverages machine learning to drive automation and decision-making.

Core Business Teams (internship location = New York City):

• Enterprise Applications and Architecture (EAA): defines strategy and roadmap for internal platforms (HR platforms, compliance solutions) and delivers tools to enhance employee and user experiences.
• HR Tech: the product team serving HR, focused on making HR AI-native by designing systems that apply generative AI and automation to hiring, development, and people processes.

Responsibilities

• Define product requirements and collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute product launches.
• Own a key area of Coinbase’s business and leverage user research, market insights, and data to build a forward-looking strategy and roadmap.
• Develop and execute product strategy that delivers high impact, working closely with stakeholders to set goals.
• Maintain a customer-centric focus by conducting user research, upholding product excellence, and analyzing user feedback and metrics to guide product innovation.
• Set success metrics for launches and analyze results throughout various stages to guide product development decisions.
• Become an expert in Coinbase’s strategic and competitive position in the onchain ecosystem and develop understanding of onchain use cases (payments, trading, DeFi, social, infrastructure).

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Economics, Math, Product Management, or related disciplines.
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities; quantitative aptitude and interest in systems-thinking and scaling processes.
• Passion for product management, technology, and customer-focused solutions.
• Entrepreneurial and adaptable in fast-paced environments.
• Experience with usability testing or user-centered design.

Nice to haves

• Basic understanding of cryptocurrency and blockchain, or strong interest in learning about the space.
• Previous experience in product management.
• Familiarity with developer tooling, APIs/SDKs, and onchain developer ecosystems (relevant to Developer and Base teams).
• Exposure to machine learning or generative AI concepts (relevant for Platform and HR Tech teams).

Pay

Pay Range:

$55—$55 USD
