About BUUT

After the summer, ABN AMRO will launch neobank BUUT. It’s the new bank created by the makers of Tikkie. Simple to use, interactive, fully visually driven, and 100% at home in the world of the new generation.

BUUT offers everything you’d expect from a bank, but with a Tikkie twist.
It is built on the knowledge and experience of ABN AMRO and features the same familiar tone, design, and user experience as Tikkie. Completely tailored to teens and their parents.

Soon it will be available for everyone in app stores; people can sign up for the waitlist at buut.com.

Your Mission

As a backend developer at BUUT, you'll join one of our development teams to revolutionize banking for the new generation. Using cutting-edge technology, you'll help build and shape our microservices-based platform that makes banking simple and fun. How you'll make an impact:

• Craft robust microservices using AWS technologies such as Lambda, DynamoDB, API Gateways.
• Analyze and enhance systems for growing user demands with performance tuning and scalability strategies.
• Participate in technical and architectural decision-making.
• Refine event-driven architecture to efficiently respond to user actions and system changes.

What We're Looking For

• Strong independent worker who actively collaborates and contributes.
• Good domain knowledge and able to share expertise.
• Initiative in problem-solving and process improvements.
• Clear communicator with positive team influence.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years professional software development experience.

Technical Requirements

• Proficiency in Go or solid experience with compiled (C/C++, Rust) and strongly typed languages (Java, C#).
• Strong AWS expertise (Lambda, DynamoDB, API Gateways, CloudFront).
• Infrastructure as Code knowledge (preferably AWS CDK in TypeScript, or Terraform/CloudFormation).
• CI/CD pipeline experience (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or similar).
• Strong foundation in microservices, event-driven architecture, DevSecOps, automated testing.
