Your impact will be helping businesses stay protected and moving forward with future-ready network security. The newly created Endpoint Protection Squad builds highly secure management tools to support enterprise device and threat teams in protecting users and devices across the organization. The squad delivers features via rich UI and backend services that span everything from app lifecycle to device posture and threat reporting.

Team composition

This team is being hired almost completely from scratch in Warsaw or remote in Poland. Planned structure: Tech Lead (transition), 3 Backend Engineers (1 Senior, 2 Mids), 2 Frontend Engineers (1 Senior, 1 Mid). NordLayer’s overall team consists of 250+ employees spread across Lithuania (Vilnius and Kaunas), Poland (Warsaw and remote), and Germany (Berlin).

Responsibilities

  • Expand and improve the codebase by writing clean, quality PHP code supported by automated tests
  • Prioritize security in all development work to ensure robust and safe solutions
  • Advocate for good coding practices, continuous delivery, and technical excellence
  • Initiate and champion new technologies and development processes to enhance team capabilities
  • Unify workflows, frameworks, and practices across teams to streamline operations

Requirements

  • 4+ years (for middle level) OR 6+ years (for senior level) of experience in software development, primarily in PHP
  • Fluency in Symfony
  • Strong understanding of OOP principles and good code design
  • Previous experience building highly scalable systems
  • Knowledge of API design and good MySQL practices, with experience handling large data volumes
  • Familiarity with Docker, RabbitMQ, Redis, and version control using Git
  • B2 or higher level of English

Would be a plus

  • Experience working in microservices
  • Knowledge of CQRS
  • Experience in product environments developing highly loaded complex software systems
