The Reddit Pro team’s mission is to empower brands, publishers, organizations and professionals to create engaging content for communities and grow their presence on Reddit through Reddit Pro. This is a high-impact role that involves technical and product strategy and offers the opportunity to work on a new product space.

Responsibilities

• Work cross-functionally with product, design, and other engineering counterparts to execute product and business strategy.
• Contribute to the full development cycle: technical design, development, testing, experimentation, analysis, and launch.
• Review code and design docs, give feedback on product specs and mocks.
• Participate as part of a team of engineers, contribute to developer workflow standards, recommend best practices, and mentor engineers on the team.
• Contribute to strategic planning and decision-making processes for backend development.

Requirements

• BS degree in Computer Science, a similar technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years of coding experience in a production setting writing clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
• 2+ years of industry experience designing large-scale distributed systems.
• Experience with object-oriented programming languages such as (but not limited to) Golang, Python, or Java.
• Experience with GraphQL, REST, HTTP, Thrift, or gRPC basics, and the ability to design and implement maintainable APIs.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks and keep projects on schedule.
• Strong leadership and communication skills, with a track record of mentoring and developing junior engineers.
• Entrepreneurial spirit: self-directed, innovative, biased toward action, and able to thrive in ambiguous, fast-paced environments.

Pay Transparency

• Base pay range for this US-based position: $164,000 - $229,000 USD.
• In addition to base salary, eligible roles may receive equity (restricted stock units) and, depending on role, commission.
• Final offer amounts depend on skills, experience, and other factors.
