Perplexity is an AI-powered answer engine founded in December 2022. The company builds accurate, trustworthy AI that powers decision-making and assists users across a variety of contexts. Perplexity serves hundreds of millions of queries per month and is rapidly growing.

We are looking for an experienced QA Engineer to join a small, fast-moving team focused on building and expanding the Perplexity Android app and a performant native desktop app. The ideal candidate should have strong QA skills, an interest in search and large language models, and a passion for delivering a great UX backed by a quality UI. The role is based in Belgrade.

Responsibilities

• Test a performant native Desktop and Android app used by millions of users worldwide.
• Work closely with product teams to implement novel mobile/desktop experiences.
• Collaborate with design teams to help design fast and intuitive UI/UX.
• Collaborate with desktop and mobile development teams to instrument, analyze, and improve the end-to-end experience.
• Work with infrastructure, backend, and frontend teams on deployment processes, including testing, release, and monitoring.

Requirements

• 4+ years industry experience in QA or related roles.
• Expertise in hand testing (manual testing).
• Expertise in autotest frameworks (test automation).
• Knowledge of how to test performance and speed issues.
• Comfortable working with a small, fast-moving team; willing to dive in and take ownership.
• A passion for shipping high-quality products.
• Interest in search and large language models is desirable.

Compensation & Benefits

• Cash compensation range for this role: $60,000 - $90,000 per year. Final offers are determined by multiple factors including experience and expertise and may vary from the amounts listed above.
• Equity: In addition to base salary, equity may be part of the total compensation package.
