At ABN AMRO's Process Automation Grid, we focus on improving and digitalising the daily experiences of our clients and employees across all Client Units. By combining business and technology perspectives, the team helps shape the bank's strategy for hyper automation.
Role overview
As a Business Consultant you will work closely with both business and IT stakeholders to identify the best solutions and support Client Units in automating their processes. You will contribute to delivering end-to-end process automation by managing initiatives, collaborating with stakeholder groups, and ensuring clarity and structure to drive actionable solutions and decisions.
Responsibilities
- Define and implement strategic initiatives within the hyper automation domain.
- Intake and assess new business processes for automation to create a clear backlog for development teams.
- Collaborate with business experts and process designers to define effective digital tools and solutions.
- Act as a bridge between business and development teams to ensure outcomes align with expectations and identify improvement opportunities.
- Explore and experiment with innovative concepts in process digitalisation such as workflow automation, rapid application development, robotics, and data analytics.
- Support Grid Owner and Product Owners and take responsibility for a portfolio of end-to-end processes and/or specific tooling domains from ideation to implementation.
Requirements
- Higher educational background (WO) with 3-5 years of relevant work experience (the vacancy also references 2+ years in some sections).
- Proven experience analysing, structuring and prioritising complex problems and a portfolio of initiatives; able to identify solutions/options and present advice in a convincing and structured manner.
- Experience with process analysis and interaction with process experts; understanding of lean concepts; ability to perform business analysis, structure business cases, and manage stakeholders from design to implementation.
- Affinity with technology and innovation (for example Intelligent Automation/Hyper Automation tools) and the ability to quickly understand technology capabilities and applicability in use cases.
- Consulting experience, a structured approach, entrepreneurial attitude and a hands-on, get-things-done mindset.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills; comfortable working in English on a daily basis.
Benefits / We are offering
- Gross monthly salary (minimum €6,051 - maximum €8,665) based on a 36-hour work week; this includes holiday allowance and Benefit Budget.
- Benefit Budget equal to 11% of your salary (monthly payout if not used in the Benefit Shop).
- Five weeks of vacation per year with the option to purchase up to four additional weeks.

Working environment
